Four things we do well.

Ace Optical began in the 1940s as a wholesale lab making glasses for area eye doctors and industrial companies. That work is still how we think about every pair.

Ray-Ban, Kate Spade and Pair frames, and we fill any prescription. Most frames carry a 2-year warranty.

Our story

We started in the lab, and it shows.

Seventy-some years on, we’re still family-sized and still downtown. We fit a lot of tricky prescriptions, we adjust glasses while you wait, and we’d rather you leave happy than leave quickly. Our promise is superior service. We mean it.

    Phone us, or send the form below. We’ll confirm a time that works. Our doctor sees patients on select days, so earlier is easier.

    See the doctor, or bring your prescription

    Get an exam from an independent Doctor of Optometry, or just walk in with a prescription from someone else. We fill any valid one.

    Choose frames with an optician

    Ray or Heather will help you find frames and lenses that suit your face, your work and your budget, then fit them before you go.

Licensed Optician

More than forty years in the optical business. Ray is a lifelong Steubenville resident and an Ohio University graduate, and he’s the person to see when a prescription is hard to fit.

Heather

Licensed Optician

Over a decade in the field. Heather is a lifelong Wintersville resident and an Eastern Gateway Community College graduate. She likes getting to know people while they pick out their glasses.

Can you fill a prescription from another eye doctor?

Yes. We fill any valid eyeglass prescription — bring it in, and we’ll help you choose frames and lenses. We’re also glad to help if you’ve had trouble getting a prescription filled elsewhere.

Do you offer eye exams?

Yes. Eye exams and contact lens fittings are performed by an independent Doctor of Optometry who sees patients at our Steubenville office. Request an appointment online or call us, and we’ll find the next available time.

What is the warranty on your frames?

Most of our frames include a 2-year warranty. Ask us about the details on the pair you’re considering.

Do you adjust or clean glasses?

Always. Cleaning is free, and for glasses purchased from Ace Optical, nose pads, screws and adjustments are free of charge too.
